Dean just started his security job at Silver Springs Specialty Care Community. A facility specifically built to care for your deceased loved ones.. The ones that are undead actually.. the ones that were turned into zombies by their families because they just couldn't let go. But after a while discover it's not easy to care for these people therefore they put them in this facility to take care of them..

But sometimes things are not what they seem..

When Dean unites with 2 zombies, Amy and Patrick.. they together discover there are some zombies that have mysteriously disappeared. But where they disappear is truly haunting !!

I read this book almost in one sitting.. it was so hard to put down.. I only did so to get the kids ready for school then there I sat till it was over..

I loved it so much although I'm not into zombie books, but this was very captivating.. I will look forward to reading other books by this author.. the writing style was so engrossing and alive..

It reminded me of the importance of letting go.. Since lately I had to learn it the hard way!

Quotes I enjoyed from the book:

"Which would you prefer, Dean? Being one of those things out there, rotted to mindlessness, or being locked in a dead body, knowing that's the future you'll face? Knowing that someone loved you enough not to let go, but didn't love you enough to care for you themselves? Instead, they locked you in here where they didn't have to see or smell you, but could take comfort in the idea that you weren't exactly dead anymore."

It used to be that death, maybe even a long or violent one, would be the worst thing you'd ever have to face. In the few skirmishes I'd served in, other soldiers had taken some comfort in knowing that. But then, that was before they started raising people from the dead.

The world felt empty and full at the same time. The cloudless, cool night gleamed with stars so far from the main lights of the city. It looked like some of them had come aground and gathered in a long circle in the grass. There were rose petals in the center: white, red, pink and yellow. I was unable to find enough of one color so I had grabbed all the little bags of them that I could find. Around the oval of light, lilies, daisies, and orchids were spread along with roses. The candles filled the night air with a miasma of scent: lemon, vanilla, strawberry, pine and cinnamon.

Night Moves I by Kiernan Kelly, Matt Brooks, Erastes and Kira Stone

Night Moves I by Kiernan Kelly, Matt Brooks, Erastes and Kira Stone

Year Published: 2008

My Rating: 4 stars

273 pages on Sony Reader

This is an anthology of vampire tales that are quite gay.

Theron's Boys by Kiernan Kelly:
Christian is a newly turned vampire that after only 3 years started to regret his choice and considering finding ways to rebel on the sire that so entranced him in the first place.

Inferno by Matt Brooks:
A vampire in the making having a fast night with a full vampire that offers to help.

Chiaroscuro by Erastes:
An artist is asked to paint someone by his family's provider. When he meets him he almost goes insane.. only to discover he is not just a normal guy.. adventures are to happen in the drawing room :)
I really hope their is a sequel for this one!!

Immortal Steps by Kira Stone:
Tian is a dancer and a very good one too.. He is followed by his most dedicated fan only to discover who his true identity is and what Tian could be if only he wanted.
Marked and hunted, he is running for his life!

This anthology was very good, I was so engrossed in it.. Every story is unique and captivating in itself. Having different vampire lore and legends mixed up.. Very fun read!

The most one I enjoyed was the last one.. :)

Quotes I enjoyed from this book:

Story 1
Actually, when Christian really thought about it, he realized that he’d jumped into his new life (for want of a better word) knowing very little about being a vampire at all. When Theron had first approached him about joining Theron’s Boys, as he’d called his little club, it had sounded like a sweet gig. Zero body fat, heightened senses, vastly increased strength, all the sex you could handle with none of the usual worries over disease, living forever-all tempting little perks that came with membership.

One man in particular drew Christian’s interest. He seemed to be the center of the universe to the men he sat with, the others treating him with a deference that bordered on worship. The very air around him crackled with power, with danger, and with a raw sexual energy that had Christian as hard as iron in no time flat.

Suddenly, the man looked up at Christian. With one long, elegant finger, he lowered his sunglasses down over the bridge of his nose, peeking at Christian from over the frames. A wily, amused smirk creased the man’s cheek as they’d made eye contact.

Story 3:
He took it delicately and the way he moved towards her I was reminded of an old fashioned dance, a gavotte, or a minuet. He dropped to his knees and bent over her hand and after a moment I had to look away, for the kiss he gave her was every bit as sensual as anything he had done to me. His eyes burned as he looked up at her and I felt myself blushing, feeling childishly jealous as I wondered once more what their relationship was.

Story 4:
“Because you mean the world to me,” Kyle admitted.

It wasn’t natural. It couldn’t be. And yet again Tain knew this was right. He soaked it up body, mind, and soul. He welcomed the surging forces at work in his body, let them change him. Let them strip away the last shreds of his humanity and reveal the vampire inside.

This is the 3rd book in the Men Of Smithfield series.

I bought this book from Aspen Mountain Press as a ebook but be warned it's a Male/Male erotic thing :)

Michael Finnegan is hired to tutor Kyle Douglas in some of his studies during the summer.. But then he has and encounter with Kyle's brother, Maxwell that ended up with him firing Michael 'Finn'.

Devastated and hurt he goes back to his school job trying to forget what happened during the summer..

But fate insists on having their paths cross yet again when the father of one of the students in the school hires Max to keep his son safe.. as a bodyguard.

Now for the safety of the boy they have to unite and ignore their differences.. or is it the hidden passion in them both :)

This is an erotic M/M, so if you are offended by this type of erotica just ignore this book.. I liked it and it was a fast read.. Actually their was a story and it was done good.. I'm gonna check out the first two books in this series.. for the times in between serious reads like now :D

Some quotes I enjoyed from the book:

“Fine. I expect two things while you are here.” His brow hiked. Too bad. I thrust a finger at him, and not the one I wanted to. “One: that you do not use this bullshit superiority complex on me. Just be straight with me and we’ll get along. And two: that you do not question my authority in the dorm or in the classroom. Treat me like an adult colleague because here we are equally in charge. I don’t answer to you-I work with you.”

“You let me worry about weaponry, Michael; you worry about Shakespeare.”

I tightened my lips and then that son of a bitch pulled out the big guns and floored me with a boyish smile that was all charm and mischief.
Oh shit, I was toast.

Tara smiled at me, that fresh young face taking in every speck of my appearance and behavior to better spread tales online as soon as she returned to the dorm. I was relieved no one had taken any pictures to post on Facebook, or upload onto YouTube. I scanned every hand for a cell phone.

“I don’t own a hair dryer. My hair is an inch and half long, Michael.”

Romantic erotica.. so if you are not into this genre just skip this book :)

Sylvia and Lea are lured into a betting game that might end up getting them what they have been wanting for quite a while. It involves Strip Poker and Truth and Dare :)

Fun fast and short.

Quotes I enjoyed from the book:

"What is it turns into," she lowered her voice conspiratorially, "a wild orgy?"
"Then I know it will be the most fun I've had in ages," her friend shot back.

"I wouldn't mind doing the dirty with either one of them. Hell both of them! A woman has needs you know!"

# 1: Don’t go hitchhiking, because the driver who picks you up could be certifiably crazy.

# 2: Don’t pick up hitchhikers, because the traveler you pick up could be a certifiably crazy.

So what if, on some dark, isolated road, Crazy #1 offered a ride to Crazy #2?

This was an amazing thriller with 2 serial killers instead of one.. so what happens when they meet each other.. I loved this short story very much!!

But if you don't like horrofic scenes and violent murders don't consider reading it :)

Vivienne Starr is an editor of a glamour magazine, when she goes to her 20 year high school reunion to meet with her girlfriends, she is shocked to find her high school sweetheart RJ who left her with 20 years ago without a word and a broken heart.
He tries to rekindle what they had but she meets a guy who comes to work for her magazine Daniel Dillon and they hit it off from day one!
Then RJ seems to be everywhere she is, stalking her and creeping her out.. Every time she meets with him she loses chunks of time and wakes up drained and disoriented.. what exactly is he doing to her and will her relationship with Danny stand the strain?!

I enjoyed the story of the book and thought it was very good, but the telling of the story in my opinion was a bit weak.. the storyline was great and would have turned out to be a 5 star but the dialogue and the telling was not that great.. I would read another book by this author just because I enjoyed the story! I kept reading it wanting to know what happens in the end :) Although his explanation of his disappearance was not that convincing :)

Quotes I enjoyed from the book:
It would be so easy. Just allow this to happen. Bring back the memories like a tsunami and let it drown me.

When he kissed her lips again, she felt herself go into that meltdown phase. Liquid, spineless, she floated over the wood floor as he held her up effortlessly. And in a waltz-like dance, they moved across the room, spinning and hovering in the air.

"When I'm good, I'm very good, when I'm bad, I'm even better,” she purred.

"Check this out. The gourmet market had these elephant garlic cloves. The grocer said they roast up really sweet."
"Holy shit.” He inspected the giant head of garlic. “That'll keep the vampires away!"
"Christ! It'll keep everyone away!” She laughed as he tossed it to her and she stuck it on the counter.

I was sent this book for review by Debra @ reviewyourbook

David Metcalfe is good with people, actually he is so good especially with women that he started seducing women for a living by helping the police catch some bad guys.. Until an attack landed him in the hospital which made him rethink his way of life.

He was then approached by his close friend Stevie, asking for his help in rescuing her only daughter from a new cult that she believes will only betray her. So for David to ensure getting close to the colony of this cult the plan is to seduce the cult founder's lonely daughter Thea.
But then David's feelings for Thea get in the way and he is between rescuing Stevie's daughter and betraying Thea.

This was a very enjoyable and fun book, with hot erotic scenes!!! The characters were engaging and charismatic with a touch of humor.. I loved David and Thea. they were great together. Such chemistry!!

It was the first time I read a book by this author but I'm hooked with this book and I will definitely check out her other books.. I just loved her writing style :)

So if you like a romance with some erotica tossed in, don't miss this book ;)

Quotes I enjoyed from the book:
She had said that it was as if he smiled with his whole heart. As if, in those unguarded moments she could see all of him. As if a little piece of his soul leaked out and shone through his eyes, making him seem absolutely real and absolutely vulnerable all at once. He didn't know if that was true or not, but he knew he liked it.
And he also realized very early on in his life that he would be an idiot if he didn't take advantage of it.

"It wasn't what you were doing that's funny. It was the way you reacted to getting caught."

She sighed. "No. You're right. I don't. I already made that decision. I guess I just wanted to hear somebody else say it"
"You want me to say it again?" A few thousand times? I've got all night."

This was a short story from an anthology called Secret Volume 27 given to me for review by Debra from reviewyourbook.com

I'm reviewing this because I might not finish the book, but if I do I might add the stories to this post!

Lieutenant Byron Burke lost his family to a merciless killer that slaughtered them one night when he was not home three years ago. He caught sight of the killer but couldn't catch him.. The killer with black eyes, soulless like a shark's!
When one day he goes surfing and gets caught in a storm Serenia rescues him. Serenia is a mermaid on a mission but when she saw Byron in trouble she had to make a detour to save his life.
When he wakes and finds a beauty checking him out he thinks he is in a dream!
Then trouble finds them and it's a fight for their lives as well as their love.

I liked the story although I'm not into mermaids.. all I know of mermaid land is The Little Mermaid and Splash :)

Quotes I enjoyed from this book :

Relief sluiced over him, the muscles in his shoulders unknotting. Perhaps he would not need to engage the land-walker after all.

The hormones that rendered a mermaid’s body supple enough to enjoy painless birthing also gentled the way for her to shift comfortably between her two forms unless she became landlocked by her breeding moon. Mermen, on the other hand, enjoyed no such advantages.

“Rennie,” he began, dragging a hand through his mussed hair. “I came out here a lost man, chasing the past.
Swallowing audibly, he turned away and rattled out a sigh. When his gaze captured hers again, she saw that his eyes shone with wetness. “Instead of the past, I found my future,” he rasped, catching a stray tendril of hair between his fingers and tucking it behind her ear. “you have saved me in ways I didn’t know I needed to be saved.”

“Forgive me,” he said, pressing his lips to the crown of her head. “you don’t have to say it. Not now. Not ever. you’re free…”

“I understand now. And I swear to you, when you open your eyes, the sun will be shining and you will be free to love anyone your heart desires.”

Those eyes, so black. Soulless. Like a shark’s.

I got this book through Debra @ Review Your Book, if you are interested in reviewing books you could contact her :) She is such a sweet lady!!

Sara Winters is an antique book collector, searching for a rare book that may or may not exist. While looking for it in France she encounters visions of her father being brutally murdered back home! But it was too late to rescue him.. the problem is the company he is working for PFI insists it was a car accident and he has the bruises to prove it.

Determined to look for answers and uncover her father's murderer, she goes looking for his acquaintances.. but before getting a chance to talk to them.. they seem to die naturally!!

Drake Domitaine is a half-angel half-demon warrior, also looking for the book because within it is his salvation.. with it he would be able to turn back to his angel warrior self and redeem his soul..

I don't want to give more about the story so as not to spoil the twists and turns, but it was a great read.. I loved Sara, she is such a character, determined to save all the people she cares about no matter what the outcome.. and Drake.. the magnificent Drake .. he is so demonly handsome in an angelic way :)

The book kept me turning pages as fast as time would allow me, because I just NEEDED to know what will happen next.. filled with action and romantic moments!

Quotes I liked from the book..

The remaining scenes of her vision came flooding back into her mind before she could stop the rush of the too vivid images; the splattering of blood onto the white walls and spotless floors, the horrified shrieks of terror, the encompassing black void sweeping into the room to swallow all sights and sounds.

No matter what I have to do, I’m going to find the truth.

“Ah, Venetrix, you are a contradiction I didn’t expect.”

When he suddenly raised his brows and then grinned sexily at her, Sara nearly choked on her embarrassment. “I said wow aloud, didn’t I?”“Yeah.”

That sexy, teasing smile that could make her heart flip-flop returned to his mouth. “I am forty three hundred years old.” He grinned boyishly and she bit back a soft sigh. “My kind age gracefully.”

Don’t ever doubt that both sides of my nature are dangerous, Somsemoh,” he murmured silkily. “One side can kill you, the other can destroy your soul.”

He knew he would remember her expression for the rest of his eternity. The shock and horror on her face and in her eyes would haunt him forever. It ripped away a little piece of his soul he couldn’t afford to lose.

He had given her his protection. The least she could do was to give him her respect.

"The supernatural world isn’t as secretive as it once was. Every government in the world knows of the existence of demons and all other beings out there. Haven’t you noticed the increased interest in the paranormal, in books, movies, in discussions? It’s eventually becoming an accepted fact.”

He finally spoke. “Sara, you have to look at me some time or another.”She sighed without turning around to face him. “I’m afraid to see the anger on your face.”

“I care, Somsemoh. I care to the very depths of my soul."

“That really was Lance, wasn’t it? The very same I-would-rather-eat-you-than-look-at-you Lance?”

This is the second book in the Demonica series.

This time it's the story of the second brother the paramedic Shade. When he wakes up chained in a dark dungeoen with his human ex-girlfriend Runa he thinks he is dreaming.. Since she discovered his betrayal almost a year ago and ran away from the scene broken hearted and hurt she encountered a life altering situation which almost kills her. Now almost a year later she comes back to seek revenge only to be caught by a nightmare in disguise.

Now she is mad as hell with him and the situation that she is in because of him, plus this emprisonment!!

When they are forced to life-bond by their crazy captor that is seeking revenge on the most highest level. They are faced with a bond that seals their fates and emotions they can't seem to help avoid, Shade is forced to endure a curse that will fade him away! But will Runa help him or avenge her shattered heart.

This was such a book that was hard to put down.. Shade is so adorable in that hunky hot kind of way..

It was so action filled that it was amazing.. twists and turns when you least expect it.. I loved it.. Every time I think ok it's everything is fine now something turns up that makes me sitting on the edge of my seat!! I would highly recommend this book to any paranormal/romance reader .. it is so passionate that it leaves you smiling..

I'll be picking up the third book soon to see what happens with the third brother Wraith :) God they are so hot!! I just can't wait :)

Quotes I liked from the book..

“There’s so much evil in him, Paleshadow,” she’d told Shade once, using the nickname he’d never hear again.

Wraith snorted. “Cowards. Seriously. Who brings a gun to a knife fight? That’s cheating.”

God, this felt good. He slid Wraith a glance. “This isn’t like, vampire gay, is it?”Wraith snorted and shot him the finger.

You hated me so much that you wanted to bring down me and the hospital.” The tone of his voice became gentler. “Not that I blame you.”

He might be a demon, but he was also a paramedic, and the desire to save lives was almost as strong as his drive to have sex. With Runa. His mate.Fuck.
Shade?”
“What? I didn’t cuss.” Way to sound guilty, idiot.

For the love of all that’s unholy, stop it. Stop being so fucking nice. You should hate me.”

You can’t truly hate someone you’ve loved. You can only hurt.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me thrice… I end up dead.

“I will bear this pain for you,” he swore. “If one of us has to bleed, it will be me. It’ll always be me.” There was nothing he wouldn’t do for her, he knew that now.

The angel wheeled away, and when Runa made to give chase, Shade grabbed her by the scruff. “Down, girl. They’re almost impossible to kill. Let him go.”

Wraith jerked Kynan closer, taking long, powerful pulls as though trying to ingest as much nourishment as possible before his meal was taken away.

Wraith sat forward in his chair, propping his forearms on his spread knees. “’Sup, buddy.”Buddy? Kynan blinked again. He wasn’t at UG. He was in the Twilight Zone.

I read the review for this book at Cindy's Blog and it caught my interest so I went and bought and read it.. Check out Cindy's review ..

Ally and Blake were highschool sweethearts and the only man Ally loved. Then he went and broke her heart by leaving to New York. Ten years later he reappears and wants to start where they left off. But this time Ally has Heather to help her out ;)

Can he mend her broken heart and make her overcome her pride or will she give him the cold shoulder.. Steamy scenes not for the faint hearted!
I simply adored this book :)

A quote I liked in this book..

"You're my sweet angel, Ally. Your blonde hair looks like a halo framing your face." He paused a moment, just staring, then said, "What we're about to do ... It's different, Ally. I've been with girls, you know that, but with you, it's just different, that's all."
"I'm scared, Blake."
He stroked my face and smiled. "I know, but I'll make it real good for you, baby. I'll make it memorable for both of us."
