Booking Through Thursday - The Best Book You’ve Never Read

We’ve all seen the lists, we’ve all thought, “I should really read that someday,” but for all of us, there are still books on “The List” that we haven’t actually gotten around to reading. Even though we know they’re fabulous. Even though we know that we’ll like them. Or that we’ll learn from them. Or just that they’re supposed to be worthy. We just … haven’t gotten around to them yet.

What’s the best book that YOU haven’t read yet?

I have so many books that I'm sure I'll enjoy that I still need to get to, but non are classics, since i read them all as a kid.
My shelves are packed either the virtual or actual shelves. So I will list the books that I'm sure I will enjoy reading because I can't just eat one I mean name one.. :)

* The alphabet series by Sue Grafton (I only read A and B so I got a lot to read)
* The Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell (I've been always planning on starting it but didn't get to it yet)
* The Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay (Didn't start yet although my cat's name is Dexter which I named after the character since I saw the series)
* The Shopaholic series by shophie Kinsella (I only read the first 2)
* The Alex Cross series by James Patterson (I only read 3)
* The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich ( I only read the first one)
* The Temperance Brennan series by Kathy Reichs (I didn't even start it..shame on me)
* The Anita Blake - Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton (I read the first one only)

Oh my I could go on forever and ever.. I have so many books that I plan to read because I've either tried part of the series and enjoyed it or read about it or have been recommended to me by trustworthy reviewers :)

I guess I'll stop here and see maybe this would encourage me to start some of the ones I listed above.. *hopeful* :)

Tunnels Of Blood by Darren Shan

My Rating: 4 stars

This is the third book of the Cirque Du Freak series (Vampire Blood trilogy) from the Darren Shan Saga.

It starts with a friend of Mr. Crepsley visiting the Cirque and then he decides to leave the cirque for a while, taking Darren with him.
Darren feeling he will be lonely is sad, so Mr. Crepsley advises him to take a friend along.. Evra Von !

The stay at a hotel where Darren and Evra have fun all day, till Mr. Crepsley wakes up after sunset and leaves till almost sunrise..
No one knows where he goes to or what he does, and Darren and Evra are not really interested.. until.. some body are discovered drained entirely of blood!!
Is Mr. Crepsley responsible?! That is what we are to find out in this book!
Plus Darren gets a girlfriend :)

Nice, fast and interesting read!

Dr Seuss Poems

Since March 2nd was Dr. Seuss's Birthday PBT at Shelfari has made a challenge to write Suessian style poems related to History (this month's tag).

So some of the members there have written some very good poems that I really enjoyed and thought of posting here..

Musing Monday #3

This week's Musing Monday is ..

When reading do you read every word? Do you ever skip chapters or skim over parts? (question curtesy of Wendy)

I usually read word for word and sometimes I go back and read a paragraph or a few lines again just to savour it :)

Rarely do I ever skim something.. and if I start doing that it means I'm bored with the book but want to know what happens next.. usually it's boring details that are skimmed..

I've done the skimming of a few lines with Atonement in the second part, the one about the war.. it was just too boring and pointless to me.. but I finished the book in the end.

The other book I remember skimming through was Fledging, and that one I just couldn't finish.. I tried a couple of times but felt I'm wasting my time with something that I'm not enjoying so I stopped.. and I don't really want to know what happens in the end :)

The Vampire's Assistant by Darren Shan

This is the second book in the Cirque Du Freak series..(Young Adult Fiction)

It's the story of Darren the half-vampire and assitant to his mentor Mr. Crepsley (the vampire) to travel all around, then they decide to join the Cirque Du Freak.

Darren needed friendship and found it with Evra, then while the Cirque is resting he meets a boy named Sam Grest who becomes a very dear friend to Darren.. and a nature guy named RV.

Some troubles happen in the Cirque and Darren is devastated..

A very nice series, I already started the third book..
