Booking Through Thursday - Hot

Now that summer is here (in the northern hemisphere, anyway), what is the most “Summery” book
you can think of? The one that captures the essence of summer for you?
(I’m not asking for you to list your ideal “beach reading,” you understand, but the book that you can read at any time of year but that evokes “summer.”)

Well I don't have certain books that I read depending on weather and season.. I just read what I feel like reading so it depends on the mood and the last book I read..

Sometimes after I read a thriller or a complicated murder/mystery I want something light and funny to defuse my thoughts and unwind.. sometimes if I'm reading a series I would like to continue and read the next book in the series.. so it all depends on my mood.. :)

But the book that I read while I was on my summer vacation 2 years ago was Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows.. that was because it was released at that time and I was waiting for the book :D so this would be the book that comes to mind :)

So do you have certain summer reads?? Check out what other people have to say about it..

I'm a moody reader, too, but I do like books that have a summer feel to them either in the title, cover or in theme.

I'm one of the few who hasn't read HP :)

I had decided to re read the whole series like I do every time before a book comes out but I think this year I might actually wait. I am very critical of the films and I think a large part has to do with the fact that I read them right before the release, so I am extra tuned into the missing details.

This summer is bitter sweet for me. I am reading almost all classics. I am glad to be getting them out of the way but I would honestly like to focus on more recent things. I do however feel it is important to have a good amount of classics tackled before I can truly appreciate the modern stuff.

I saw your link on the BTT site when I posted mine just now. You may have been "late as always" but I was even later! :- )

I haven't read Harry Potter (yet?). Somehow I'm just not interested.

Yvonne, really ?! you haven't read HP?! Maybe it's just not your thing :) but you could try out the first book and see, you might enjoy it :)

Padfoot and Prongs, I haven't seen all the movies because I enjoyed the books so much I don't want to ruin it by seeing the movie.. they are so different and not enough details to satisfy me :)
As of classic I'm not really into them :D

Wendy, Aww thanks that is so sweet of you :) I'll post it soon :)

Beth, thanks ;) it's for the summer, since I'm planning on going on vacation next week I'd thought of choosing a summer theme :D

J.G., didn't think there would be someone later that me :)
So you didn't read HP either.. maybe it's just not your thing :)
