Judge a Book By Its Cover!

Today's Weekly Geeks : Judge a Book By Its Cover!

This week it's all about judging books by their covers! Pick a book--any book, really--and search out multiple book cover images for that book. They could span a decade or two (or more)...Or they could span several countries. Which cover is your favourite? Which one is your least favourite? Which one best 'captures' what the book is about?

I chose "Guilty Pleasures" by Laurell K. Hamilton, so here are the covers I found..

This one is the US 1993 edition

UK 1994

Russian 2000

US 2000

UK 2000

US 2002

Hungary 2003

Greek 2003

US 2004

Spanish 2005

Belguim 2006

Brazil 2006

Czech 2006

Netherlands 2006

German 2006

Poland 2008

My favorite cover is the German one, then the US 2000-2002 then the US 2004.

The least favorite is the Russian!

The one best 'captures' what the book is about in my opunion is the the UK 2000 cover.

I like the US 2000 and US 2002. I agree with you - the Russian is my least favorite.

I loved this book and the series so far.

While I haven't read any of Hamilton's work I do own a handful of them (including this one) so I feel a bit bad that I don't have the German cover for 2006 because I like it best. Of course I don't know if it captures the story about eh, vampires and Anita Blake for that matter :)

I think Canada is the same as the US 2000 cover but I'd have to drag mine out to find out. It's amazing how many different covers there are-some of these are really cool.

You've just piked my interest to read this book.

Great covers - clear reflection of the individual countries.

I have the UK 2000 one and in my eyes it reflects the story best. To me this is what Anita looks like. Can you imagine I never saw the German one, even though I live in Germany, LOL? The cover looks nice but seeing it I'd expect something totally different than Anita Blake. The Russian one looks frightening...

Wow interesting covers. But the czech one - ew! I'd pass that one up in a heartbeat. I do like vampire books and will have to look into this one.

Lifeasme, thanx, I'm glad you liked the blog, welcome and have a nice read going through it :)

Dar, yeah I was really amazed.. when I thought of looking for this book's covers I thought I'd find 3 or 4 not this many.. but I find it's cool to have different ones since people tend to have different tastes for these covers :)

Claire, yeah it's really cool!

Erotic Horizon, it's a really good book and I've heard the rest of the series is too, I'm planning on starting the second book soon!
Yeah I thought that the covers reflect the countries too :)

Rikki, WOW really?! you are in Germany and have not seen it! maybe it was limited or something..
Yeah I know it does not give you an idea that it's a vampire related book..
The Russian, yikes!!
I know if I saw that cover in the bookstore I would never consider picking the book up!! not my style at all :)

Robin, yeah it's good.. and I love vampire books too.. lately I got addicted to the Sookie Stackhouse series.. I feel right at home when reading it.. I know that's creepy LOL!! Czech not my favorite either!
